Student research programmes are conducted in national parks, provincial reserves, conservancies, game ranches and smaller game parks and cover wildlife ecology, habitat management, individual wildlife species studies, wildlife and ecotourism management.

Research areas that are focused on are amongst other: predator ecology, herbivore nutrition, game ranch management and wildlife population dynamics. Transportation of wildlife, game census accuracy and game capture techniques are also studied.
